About Robert
Robert Carl Randall (1948-2001) is the acknowledged father of the medical marijuana movement. In 1976 he became the first individual to gain legal access to marijuana for medical purposes to treat his glaucoma. He was just 24 years old. The success in his case led others to his door wanting the same legal access and a movement was born.
Robert, with a master’s degree in rhetoric (the art of public persuasion), was the perfect spokesperson for this fledgling movement. He recognized his unique status, as America’s only legal cannabis user, would give him a bully pulpit and he seized it. He inspired countless news articles which tell his story.
